I wonder if you have noticed as I have, the more scientific opinion I read on the subject of “global warming”, the more convinced I am that the accepted ‘facts’ are not ‘facts’ at all as there is as much evidence on one side of the argument as there is on the other.
If you ignore all the hype about the problem and the proposed solution and just zero in on exactly what implementation of this accord would achieve, the result is absolutely sickening. It is a giant scheme to redistribute huge amounts of wealth from the ‘developed world’, in other words us in Alberta to a disproportionate extent, so that the undeveloped world which of course includes such delightful places as Russia and China can use our hard earned wealth to continue with their massive armaments and international proliferation program, which, no doubt will one day be used against us. We should not be surprised that the United Nations is pushing such a program when you consider that it is dominated by communist and socialist countries that want to plunder the wealth of rich countries such as Canada.
Obviously, when Chretien forces this abominable thing upon us, it will be devastating. He has demonstrated over and over again his total contempt for us in the West and we are to be punished again.
This is clearly another wealth grab like “The National Energy Program”. The Alberta government should make it very clear that if Canada agrees to this outrage, Albertans will be given the opportunity in a referendum to leave Canada and thereby opt out of this ‘self destructive stupidity’.
The United States declared independence from Britain over a 1% tax. “Taxation without representation”, well we pay a lot more than 1% to Ottawa and they regulate us to death and we have no representation, our MP’s are powerless and it is impossible to change the status quo. The history books do not describe the founding fathers of the United States as selfish rebels who separated from the British Empire. They were heroes who rebelled against oppressive taxation from their colonial masters. It’s time we stopped letting our colonial masters in Ottawa destroy our culture and prosperity. It’s time for our PC Alberta Government to fight for us Albertans, we’re not all Canadian’s first.
Canada is not what it used to be. It has become a Quebec dominated, high taxing, socialist, over-regulated, any culture but white European promoting, man denigrating, homosexual boosting welfare state with very little freedom of speech left and most of our other freedoms in retreat.
It’s time to make a stand. If not now, when? Alberta will be destitute if this thing goes through and then it will be tough to make a stand.
