Alberta is the richest province in Canada. It has the highest GDP of any state of Canada and the reason is simple – it is the high price of crude oil. Since 2003 the price of crude oil has been high enough to make profitable the extraction of oil from the Athabasca Sands. Although there doesn’t seem to be any chance of Alberta running out of oil in the next few years, it is nevertheless wise and prudent not to waste this glorious opportunity that Alberta has been given to improve the lifestyles of the inhabitants of Alberta. As a republican I don’t believe this is by high personal taxes or corporation taxes. Nor do I believe that we should throw money willy nilly at social programs.

Alberta is in the enviable position of being the second largest exporter of crude oil and the 4th largest producer in the world. It is estimated that the Athabasca Sands contain oil reserves that equal the oil reserves of the rest of the world. Thanks to techniques developed here in Canada we are able to extract the bitumen and crude oil by steam assisted gravity drainage at a cost not much higher than conventional oil extraction.

Naturally the revenues from the oil and natural gas have to be shared with the rest of Cananda. However, the population of Alberta is booming and so is the general level of wealth of its citizens. What we must guard against is complacency.

First, we must continue to improve our oil and gas extraction technology so that the price of production becomes comparable with conventional extraction methods. This will protect Alberta against a sudden fall in oil and gas prices.

Secondly, we must manage our carbon emissions carefully and spend resources on developing alternative sources of energy so that Alberta does not find itself a petro-chemical dinosaur in the future.

Thirdly, we must increase our manufacturing business. We must invest in start ups in areas such as carbon brush technology, IT, graphite production, aerospace design, software engineering, medical equipment, financial services and the myriad other ventures that make up a successful modern mixed economy. It is foolish to be a one pony economy.

Finally, we should assist the elderly, the diasbled and those genuinely seeking work. We shouldn’t waste money creating a dependency on social services. We need care where it counts, education and training.

This is my plan for Alberta and I believe only the Republicans can deliver.

Alberta has some great skiing, hiking and mountain biking. We have beautiful alpine forests, lakes and outdoor scenery. There is plenty of scope for enjoying the outdoor life. Canandians are proud of their country for the adventures it can afford. We can go hunting for deer and other animals. We can encounter bears. We can be caught driving by a startled moose. Canadians have to be prepared if they want to stay safe when they go camping and on fishing trips. It makes us practical people.

I recently returned from a holiday to Thailand. I decided to visit the Khao Lak region on the Andaman Coast. This was the area that was hit by the devastating tsunami of December 2004. I’m a republican and I believe in fiscal responsibility, but I also think the central government has a duty to help get disaster victims back on their feet. I’m not sure how much assistance the Thai government gave to the people of Khao Lak, but it is remarkable how they have managed to get themselves back on track. The place is rebuilt and doing better than ever it seems.

I stayed with my family on the quiet beach of Lamru at the Briza Beach Resort. It was a stylish resort right on the beach. My family loved the soft golden sand, the resort pool and the perfect sunsets. We spent a day in Khao Lak National Park. We did an elphant trek to a waterfall and spent a few hours off the coast snorkeling. There were lots of fish to see.

My family persuaded me to sign up for a day tour of the Similan Islands. We all did Discover Scuba Diving. We swam through an underwater mountain range, saw sharks and mantas and a wide variety of colorful corals. None of us wanted to get out of the water.

On our last day in Khao Lak we took an excursion to Koh Panyi in Phang-Nga Bay. It is a floating island. It was incredible how people manage to adapt to living on the water. They even had a footballl pitch.

The adventure that Thailand has to offer is very different to in Canada, but somehow the way people learn about their natural environment in Thailand reminded me of Canada. It would be great if Khao Lak could twin with a place in Alberta.

I have a group of friends whom all live just south of San Francisco. When it comes to wine they are the biggest wine honks I have ever met. They’re so California centric when it comes to wine it is almost embarassing.

Because of that, I send them a couple of wine gift baskets from Alberta every year. Yeah, yeah I know, I won’t change their mind over night, but it doesn’t hurt to try right?

What those of us who live in Alberta already know is that Alberta and Canada in general makes the world’s best ice wine. Ice wine, is of course a lot more expensive to buy and certainly more troublesome to make than anything they attempt to create down there in California. Now if only we could convince everyone of that.

I love my job. I’m on the street, every day, to speak to young people and persuade them to join the Republican Party. It gives me great joy to know that I’m influencing the future of so many young lives. The kinds of things that I can do for them are many and varied. We can change government, change culture, and change the status quo which has allowed Republicans to live in the shadows for too many years. The days of being ignored are over, now we begin to have a voice. The liberal main/lame-stream media is unfair to Republicans and do not show proper respect.

I think that there will never be an end to my work, but I don’t anticipate that my job will slow down anytime soon. I’ve been working harder than ever the past few years. From my work in Alberta to my work in Florida, I am most proud of my recruiting work done right here in my home country of Canada. If I had a nickel for every time I got someone to consider voting republican, I’d have a heaping pile of nickels, a twentieth as many dollars, and some property to rent in my portfolio. Just a little math joke. But that’s besides the point, we need to be represented in full. More than 60% of the country is republican according to my polling. I don’t do anything special, I just talked to the plain people here in my hometown of Vicksburg, and extrapolating I can see that the country has swung very far to the right. With this information you can only glean that the Liberals are doing anything they can hold onto power illegally. In the real world, the majority has a say in how their country is governed. Only Liberals would resort to dirty tricks and false pronouncements to keep their jobs secure.

For community candidates with restricted costs, online review resources can be purchased that will help collect voter comments. Any well-structured questionnaire offers a good tool to provide insight into exactly what problems are essential to the voters. Like a political candidates meant to pay a good amount of cash to web design template and servicing companies in the event they wished an expert website for them to blow your own trumpet in a political strategy. Nowadays, situations are really various as a political applicant may start through himself, his or her own website and deal with this content openly through the use of WordPress. When WordPress became available, it was primarily an internet site regarding bloggers and message boards. Even so, it has today become a choice system for reports providers, testers, periodicals and non-governments.

Picking web design templates will be the additional major action. You need to determine that template which usually satisfies the majority of the political activities attribute. These will appear in more modern yet simpler to make use of templates every year. Then you can definitely obtain a website and after that navigate to the stage of putting in the WordPress upon which you purchased. These will normally provide you with passwords and rules needed to administrate. There is no question that one doesn’t need to cover to secure a website installed and keep on operating. To the contrary, you can find individuals who may reduce thousands of profits for no cause.

Before starting any survey, be sure you thoroughly check it out. Enable to get a few strangers’ feedback on the questions, a single and very common problem is when response isn’t create proper. As an example, control keys as opposed to check boxes are employed, causing customers not to have the ability to reply your inquiries properly. A few review systems accommodate answer options to be randomized for each and every participant. This method helps in reducing bias might make computer more statistically appropriate.

Self-government can be a very appealing idea. Whether you are looking for freedom from religious persecution because have wondered what is baptism or you are an idealist self-government can be important. In this article we will explore a few reasons why self-government could be a great topic for your family.

When discussing self-government with your family it is important you let your children maintain an open mind. You want your children to have structure but feel free to explore other ideas. So when you teach your family about self-government doesn’t be judgmental or negative to other government ideology.

To begin teaching your children you should always start with the fundamentals of government. You want to teach the importance and role a government plays in our lives. When you teach about the basics of government you can then go into more specific pros and cons of the foundation. As you share a variety of government ideas you can teach your family about self-government.

We’ve probably all used a power of attorney form from time to time, whether it was to protect our children while they were in day care or to allow us to designate someone to look over our finances if we become too ill to do so ourselves. These legal documents serve an important purpose and are useful in myriad situations.

Did you know that power of attorney forms in Canada are different than in the U.S.? In the U.S., the main designations for power of attorneys are durable power of attorney, general power of attorney, limited power of attorney, and medical power of attorney. Here in Canada, we only use two types: power of attorney for property and power of attorney for personal care.

POA for property is used when you want someone to manage your finances or property if you become unable to do so for any reason.

POA for personal care is used when you need someone to make decisions about your personal care, such as the medical treatment you will receive or where you will reside.

In the U.S., medical power of attorney would be the same as power of attorney for personal care here in Canada. However, durable, general, and limited can be used for power of attorney for property or personal care; the name describes the limitation of the designation rather than what it can be used for.

I hope this helps clear up some confusion. I have a few friends from the U.S. who are confused any time I mention our power of attorney designations here up north.

To celebrate such a big anniversary they decided to take a trip of a lifetime to Canada. They had always dreamed of a trip there and even considered emigrating their from the UK soon after they graduated and before they started a family.

One of their favourite places that they visited was Edmonton in Alberta where they took in a hockey game watching the local team, the Oilers and found out about local local aboriginal tribes at the Royal Alberta Museum (RAM). They loved the vibrancy of the city and my mother took part in some ‘retail therapy’. One of the strangest thing she bought was some cat litter box furniture which she got shipped back home to the UK. My dad was pretty bemused at the whole concept of a cats litter tray within a piece of furniture and he nearly fainted when he saw the bill to get it shipped home! It was a lovely piece though, and not available to buy anywhere in the UK. I guess his calmness at my mothers crazy ideas is one of the main reasons they are still together after 40 years!

For Republicans in Canada, it can be hard to grasp the unusual political system US Republicans operate with. Probably the most intriguing aspect of the United States political system is the precinct, and the important part it plays in elections and the political parties of our Southern brethren.

Each American state consists of many counties, and in turn each of these counties consists of sometimes hundreds of different precincts. Each of these precincts is a small – usually walkable in urban locations – neighborhood of roughly two thousand potential voters. So far, so good – no big deal, just an artifical designation with no real meaning right? Well, actually no!

You see, each of these precincts, every two years, elects a Precinct Chair, Precinct Chairman, Precinct Committeeman – the exact name of this officer varies from state to state. This election occurs at the time of the primaries every second year. The only candidates allowed to fill this position are people who live in that precinct, and the only voters who can choose the precint chair for the republican party are themselves the Republicans who live within the precinct.

Basically, what this means it that for every neighborhood of roughly 2000 voters, there is a chance for someone to become an elected party official in the Republican party. This situation is unique for the ability it provides for local grassroots activists to gain an official party title. However, it is not just titular, as all voting within the party comes down to the precinct chairs and what they want.

Groups like the Tea Party have utilized this system in recent years to make radical change to the US republican party. Large numbers of Tea Party activists have filled the role of precinct chairs all over the nation, and are now present in sufficient numbers that they can make or break a potential candidates chances at winning a republican primary. This explains the rise of Tea Party approved candidates for office in the 2010 campaign, and should make for some interesting candidates in the 2012 election season also!

I have been an avid republican supporter for many years and with the election looming on the horizon I decided to get back into the swing of the politics in my region and go and to canvas support for my party. I told everyone I met to log onto www.albertarepublicans.org to see what we had to offer by way of changing the systems that govern us in Alberta today.

It was not easy as many of those who vote democrat are dead set against us and no amount of argument will change their minds. So it was with this in mind that I organised the motorcycle Republican rally. I had all of my biker friends who are just as into the Republican ideals as I am, join together to ride the state carrying the message of change with us.

Out came the bike, a Honda 750 and off I went to get it sorted for the hard riding on rough roads ahead all I needed was found at especially the new chain and sprockets , and once fitted we were off on our pilgrimage around the State. At first all was going well. We stopped at several towns and held meeting with other local republican supporters, but it all started to wrong when we got stuck between Airdie and Red Deer. Two of the bikes (that had not been properly serviced) broke down and the riders had to be ferried home by bus.

When we stopped at Calgary and joined in with a republican rally we came back to find that our bikes and all out other gear had been stolen. It was rapidly turning into a nightmare and we had such a hard time with the cops that we too just came home. They took us for Angels, I mean we weren’t even wearing colours, and they told us to clear out and if they found our bikes they would let us know.
Jeez politics is a dirty business isn’t it?
